Emma Watson came face to face with the actress playing the grown-up version of her most famous character, Hermione Granger, last night.
Noma Dumezweni is currently starring in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a play set 20 years after the events of J.K. Rowling's final book. In the play, she has two children with Ron Weasley and is working as the Minister for Magic.
The two actresses shared the meeting on Twitter, with Dumezweni praising Watson as "beautiful, humble and very kind," saying: "Emma Watson, it was really quite emotional being in your company. We spoke of you with major respect."
Watson was also photographed meeting several other members of the cast, including actors Sam Clemmett and Anthony Boyle, who are playing Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy, respectively.
The actress came out in support of Dumezweni's casting as Hermione earlier this year, after some fans expressed disappointment that she bore no similarities to Watson. Rowling was also quick to silence critics, saying: "Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever. White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione."
