Suki Waterhouse has brought her It girl fashion sensibilities to the VMAs red carpet.
The “Good Looking” singer, who recently welcomed the arrival of her first child with boyfriend Robert Pattinson, looked glamorous as she stepped onto the red carpet on Wednesday evening at New York’s UBS Arena, where the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards is being held.
For the occasion, she wore a striking all-black look that was all parts elegant with just a hint of red-carpet drama. The fit in question was a silky little black dress with a cupped bra and cutouts at the waist, from where the midi skirt flowed. Over the sleek piece, Waterhouse layered on a cropped black fur jacket; and she finished the vampy look with some pointy black heels.
Waterhouse is among tonight’s award presenters, alongside fellow celebrities like Halle Bailey, Tinashe, Paris Hilton, Addison Rae, and Big Sean. Tonight also marks her first-ever appearance at the annual ceremony.
This Friday, Waterhouse is set to release a new double album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. She opened up about the new record in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “My last album was very much exploring this kind of sadistic relationship that I was spending a lot of time getting over,” she reflected. “And I think this one is like my head is above water … I’m kind of in this new season of life, which feels really exhilarating.”
Of the eyebrow-raising title, inspired by a colorful spider species, Waterhouse explained, “It’s kind of one of those things where I’m like, if you get it, you get it. I wanted something that leaned towards a kind of ridiculousness and felt a little bit comical and a bit fabulous. … The world is kind of violent and you can get eviscerated and you can get eaten at any moment, and we’re in this, like, kind of beautiful and also, like, devastating dance together.”
