Mimi Keene was one of the guests at last night’s Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards – a celebration of extraordinary women deserving of special recognition.
The English actress, best known for her role in Netflix’s Sex Education, wore a stunning black Armani gown with a similarly classic beauty look that oozed red carpet glamour.
Make-up artist Naoko Scintu created the beauty look for Keene, revealing the Armani Beauty products she used.
To enhance Keene’s complexion with a camera-worthy finish, Scintu used the brand’s iconic franchise of base products; layering the Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer with the Luminous Silk Foundation (in shade 6.5) and Luminous Silk Concealer (in the matching shade) where needed. For subtle structure, the creamy Neo Nude Color Balm in shade 50 was used to contour, with the Neo Nude A Highlight in Champagne applied to the cheekbones.
For that remarkable feline flick she used the Eyes to Kill Designer Eyeliner in Black, a precision liquid liner that lasts up to 12 hours. On the eyes she also used the brand’s Stellar Eyeshadow in shade 4, Stardust – a gleaming gold.
Keene’s lips were defined using the Smooth Silk Lip Pencil in shade 2 and coloured in with the brand’s Lip Power in 102, both shades of pale pinky-nude.
One of London's most in-demand hairstylists, Larry King, was behind Keene's "old school voluminous blow-dry, with high-polish shine".
To achieve the look he prepped her hair with his Volumizing Hair Mist and the Pureology Weightless Volume Mousse, then when dry he set it with velcro rollers, to "encourage lift at the roots and around the crown". King then slightly curled the ends of Keene's hair under with a round brush while using the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer for a further vintage feel.
"To finish it we gave her a diagonal parting, and created a little sweeping fringe, connected to the rest of the hair," King adds, before he applied the fine-mist hairspray Redken Fashion Work 12 to add weightless hold.
