Michelle Williams has mastered her red carpet style, often striking the perfect balance between elegant and whimsical with the help of Chanel. Her look for the 2024 Deauville American Film Festival was no different, and saw her slip into an intricately beaded dress courtesy of the French fashion house.
The sleeveless gown featured a ballooning skirt covered in a crackled white paint effect, adding an aged look to the piece (ironically, from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2023 Couture line). Black fabric peeked out from underneath the chipped white pattern, while the waist of the dress was altered from its original runway styling for a sleeker fit. Up top, white canvas flowers spread across the actor’s torso, as their black background was embellished with shimmering silver beading.
A mix of bridal and bohemian, the ensemble made Williams look radiant, as did her careful accessorizing. She wore a smattering of silver rings on her hands, complementing the metallic jewelry with a pair of large diamond studs. To let her gown’s beaded accents have their moment, the Greatest Showman star went without a necklace, instead leaving her décollatage bare. Later in the night, Williams was also awarded the Career Tribute Award at the film festival, which both celebrated her acting achievements and added a significant accessory to her look.
The sophisticated air of her outfit extended upwards as well, translated through a subtle smokey eye and coral blush, which she matched with a glossy lip of the same color. Her platinum pixie cut was styled in a polished side part, adding a signature touch of quirkiness. Earlier this year, the actor debuted the ‘do in a pink hue, making it a key accessory to her Met Gala look, which naturally, was also Chanel. “There’s nothing that feels quite like wearing Chanel,” she told Bazaar at the time—and clearly, that statement still rings true.
