If you’re anything like me, you also switch up your go-to perfume rotation ahead of a new season. The scent I can’t recommend enough for this fall? Tory Burch’s new Sublime, which the entire Bazaar beauty team agrees is one of the most exciting and sexiest fragrances of the year.
“Sublime is the ultimate way you want to feel: confident, sensual, strong,” Burch says of the floral-leather scent, which the designer created with Givaudan master perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, perfumer Christine Hassan, and Shiseido. “It is a word and an emotion that has no ending. … It makes you feel like anything is possible.”
NOTES
Top: Mandarin essence, urban ivy accord, upcycled peach
Heart: Upcycled rose, osmanthus absolute, magnolia accord
Base: Tethered leather accord, patchouli, vetiver essence
Sublime is a floral scent that perfectly balances bright and sexy, feminine and masculine, soft and strong. It is easy to wear, thanks to the opening fruity and citrus notes that give it a playfulness. The heart is all classic florals, centered on rose, and then the base brings the spice, with typically masculine notes of leather, patchouli, and vetiver. It’s the perfect fragrance to wear to work, as it doesn’t overpower; and in my own tests, Sublime drew more compliments than anything else I’ve tested recently.
Fronting the new fragrance is none other than supermodel Kendall Jenner. “Sublime is beautiful, it’s sexy, it’s confident,” Jenner says. “I love what Tory does and what she stands for. I want to align with designers who feel genuinely right to me, and this felt natural and organic.”
The bottle is also a departure for Burch and her brand. The brand calls the sculptural bottle, designed by award-winning artist Malin Ericson, an “abstract take on Tory’s double T. The curvilinear glass body is topped by a silver cap with a playful off-center logo.” The bottle is also reusable, but refills won’t be available until early 2025—so be thoughtful as you pace your spritzes, though I know how hard that will be once you sniff Sublime for yourself.
Sublime by Tory Burch is now available in the United States at Ulta, in Tory Burch boutiques, and at toryburch.com. SHOP
