Alison Brie Secret To Happy Marriage Husband Dave Franco

Five years into their marriage, Alison Brie and Dave Franco are collaborating on film projects and as in love as ever.

The actress is starring in Somebody I Used to Know, an upcoming romantic dramedy directed by Franco and co-written by the couple.

"To me the best part is getting to experience all these other people on set realizing how incredible he is," Brie told Entertainment Tonight of getting to work with her husband. "I already know, [but] it's really fun to watch all the new eyes kind of take him in. And as a director, he is extraordinary."

It's not the first film the two have collaborated on. Brie also starred in Franco's 2020 director debut, The Rental.

One of Hollywood's most private and low-key couples, Brie and Franco began dating in 2011 after meeting at Mardi Gras and married in an intimate ceremony in 2017. In an interview with The Sunday Times in 2019, the actress addressed the pressure of having kids when married, and admitted she doesn't really want children and is content with the pair's two cats.

And their secret to a happy marriage? "Communication. It's all about good communication," Brie told ET. "Everybody says it, but I think that's why we try to work together so much honestly, just so we can spend more time together. So we don't have to be apart so much."

Even when their schedules do keep them apart, however, the actress said they both "make an effort to connect every day, and that's important."

Brie's latest film, Spin Me Round, hits theaters and streaming services tomorrow. And she is not only the star of the comedy, but also a producer and co-writer.

"It's really unexpected," Brie said of the project. "I don't think it's gonna be like anything that they've seen before and to me that's exciting! It might not be exciting for everybody, but I hope that they're excited by it and that it makes them want to rethink their vacations."
