Harry Styles Pleasing Beauty Review

Harry Styles fans—your moment is now. Pleasing by Harry Styles is officially out. The "life" brand first launched for pre-orders earlier this month, but is now available for general sale if you missed the boat. The first drop consists of four polishes, an eye and lip serum, and a face serum—though we get the sense that future drops might explore other pleasure-filled categories.

“I wanted to find a way to explore more ideas and have more opportunities to collaborate with people who were inspiring me; that’s how Pleasing was born," Styles says. "Starting the brand with beauty felt exciting because creating great products is a unique way to make people feel good.”

With a name like Pleasing, you might confuse this brand for one that sells adult toys. We believe that is entirely the point, as evidenced by the shape of the nail polishes. The Perfect Polish set ($65, or $20 individually) includes three polishes: Perfect Pearl, a glossy white; Granny's Pink Pearls, a classic pink; and Inky Pearl, a glossy nearly-black blue. There's also Pearly Tops, a top coat with a matte finish that dulls down the shine of the polishes.

The polishes are 12-free, biodegradable, and made with plant-based solvents. That being said, they don't wear awfully long, as we noticed chips after just 24 hours. But Styles's involvement and the Instagrammable bottles alone will have these go down in beauty history regardless.

The other two products are in the skincare category. Also inspired by Styles's love of pearls, the Pearlescent Illuminating Serum ($30) is a moisturizing serum that contains vitamin b5, antioxidants, amino acids, and mica to give skin a sparkly glow. "It was inspired by the Japanese skin divers—female divers who collected pearls for Morimoto with no gear, just
a net. Their skin looks so fresh, shining in the sun, and I wanted a product that would give that feeling," Styles says.

Finally, there's the Pleasing Pen ($30), which is perhaps our favorite item from the launch. The dual-sided rollerball contains a lip oil on one end and an eye serum on the other, so it's great for travel or stashing in a bag. The matte lip oil is unlike anything else we've used. It hydrates lips but doesn't live that tell-tale shine. The Fresh Eye gel is applied with a cooling rollerball and makes your under-eyes feel instantly refreshed, hydrated, and plumped.

“When we decided Pleasing would make beauty products I wanted to be sure they were something I would use. I didn’t want to make products to mask people, I wanted to highlight them and make them feel beautiful," Styles says.

The first drop of Pleasing by Harry Styles is sure to sell-out fast, so shop them now. No word yet on what's still to come from Pleasing, but we'll update this when we know more about the future of the brand.
