SZA is ushering in the weekend with a treat: a new music video for her latest ethereal hit, "Good Days."
Though the visuals, directed by Solana herself, start out with the singer passed out in her room, they soon evolve into a trippy, glittery haze where she dances in the grass amongst life-size mushrooms, and lounges on a mossy hill in a crystal-covered sheer dress. But it's the her pole dancing sequence in a library that takes the cake.
Dressed in a shimmery nude bikini and transparent platform heels, SZA shows off acrobatic strength as she spins, turns, and hangs upside down, all while surrounded by shelves of books and loose pages. It is truly a sight to behold.
The singer gave fans a taste of her skills last month, though, when she shared a clip of herself twirling around the pole upside down in the "Good Days" set.
The video closes with another pole sequence from the singer, this time set in a gas station while her TikTok-famous song, "Shirt," plays.
"Good Days" is the latest drop from SZA in her new era of music, following "Hit Different," which she released in September. And there may be more to come, namely, an album, but we still don't know when that will arrive.
"Initially, I was just dropping songs because I was bored and in quarantine, losing my mind and doing a lot of self-comparison, and I just had to drop music," she previously told BAZAAR.com.
She also told us of her creative process during this time, "Some moments, I feel like I don't know what's good, like I don't know what is a good song or what's a good concept. And sometimes, when I'm not thinking of trying at all is when something popular happens or something that connects with people happens. Which is kind of what happened with "Good Days," that's also a quarantine situation."
