At the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, Ana de Armas – a Leading Actress nominee for her role as Marilyn Monroe in the biopic Blonde – looked stunning in a custom-made silk organza Louis Vuitton gown. While nodding to a famous dress worn by Monroe in 1962, de Armas' glittering version featured a mermaid-like 3D scalloped train, which also spoke to the most mythical trend making waves in fashion and beauty this year.
"The dress looks like morning dew," said de Armas of its wet-look texture. "We wanted the make-up look to reflect this with dewy skin and juicy, shimmery pinks."
The actress' beauty look was purposefully simple, and she read much more fresh-faced than may of her peers at the ceremony who opted for more classic red carpet make-up. Ergo, it translates beautifully to real life – and it's serving spring inspiration for those wanting to transition to lighter textures this season.
Being Estée Lauder's global brand ambassador, it's no surprise that de Armas wore a full face of the brand's make-up – all of which is available to shop now.
For her complexion, the moisturising foundation Futurist Hydra Rescue in shade 2W1 Dawn was used, with the Double Wear Radiant Concealer in 2N applied where needed. For some subtle warmth, the Bronze Goddess Healthy Glow Bronzer in Sunrise was applied beneath the Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush in Pink Kiss on her cheeks.
On the star's eyes, the sparkling pale pink from the brand's Pure Color Envy Luxe Eyeshadow Quad in Rose & Shine was swept all over the lids, with the shimmery rose gold shade from the Aubergine Dream quad added just to the centre.
To enhance her lashes, she wore the Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in Extreme Black, one of de Armas' all-time favourite beauty products. "It makes my lashes really long," she shares in our exclusive video below, revealing the contents of her personal beauty bag. "It doesn’t flake, it really lasts all day – and it’s incredible."
And for de Armas' lips at the Oscars, she combined two shades of the new Pure Color Crème Lipstick – Irresistible and Renegade – topped with the nourishing Pure Color Envy Nighttime Rescue Lip Oil Serum. Less sticky than a traditional gloss, this multi-use product was also used to highlight key points on the actress' face, including the brow and cheek bones.
Together, the aesthetic chimes with sentiments shared by de Armas with Bazaar. The best beauty mantra she swears by is “less is more”, she notes, which looks very good on her.
