Emma Stone is officially a mom!
According to TMZ, the La La Land actress gave birth on Saturday, March 13 in the Los Angeles area. This would mark the first child for Stone and her husband, writer and director Dave McCary. Stone and McCary have not yet publicly confirmed the baby news, and it's still unknown whether the couple welcomed a baby boy or girl.
The news first broke of Stone's pregnancy back in January, after photographs of the ultra-private actress were released showing off her baby bump.
"She seems very happy and very excited about becoming a mother—she’s constantly oohing and cooing. She looks great, she looks healthy, she’s glowing," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "She’s been keeping up with friends and work lately, she’s always staying active and gets her daily exercise in."
Stone first met her husband in 2017 after meeting on set of Saturday Night Live and became engaged two years later. The couple first confirmed the engagement news with a surprise Instagram post where Stone showed off her unique pearl engagement ring. The pair were reportedly set to have a wedding ceremony last spring, but canceled the celebration due to the ongoing. COVID-19 pandemic. They ultimately decided to quietly marry in 2020 instead.
The actress previously opened up to ELLE magazine about how her views on starting a family have changed over the years.
"My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older. I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids," the actress said in 2018. "And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids."
