Even though she now lives across the pond, Duchess Meghan is still paying homage to husband Prince Harry’s family roots.
While grabbing lunch with actor and activist Kimberly Williams-Paisley in Montecito, California, Meghan looked cool and casual in her signature California uniform—which included a subtle tribute to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
The Duchess of Sussex emerged from Italian restaurant Tre Lune wearing a breezy white button-up blouse from Anine Bing. She styled the shirt loosely, scrunching the sleeves up to her elbows and tucking the hem into the top of her high-rise La Ligne jeans.
Continuing to imbue the rest of her ensemble with sophistication, she added her go-to two-tone Chanel ballet flats, black Ray-Ban aviator shades, and a dazzling assortment of gold jewelry—including Cartier’s Juste Un Clou collar necklace, which retails for more than $13,000.
The touching nod to Diana came in the form of Meghan’s purse: a black iteration of Dior’s Lady D-Lite bag, which was named for the late Princess of Wales. Diana’s association with the now-classic Dior offering began in 1995, when she began to popularize the then-unreleased style throughout a slate of public engagements. The Lady D-Lite eventually came to be one of Diana’s most recognizable accessories.
Meghan occasionally includes nods to her mother-in-law in her clothing choices. When she and Harry visited Nigeria in May, the duchess wore a diamond-encrusted cross pendant attached to a gold chain, a sentimental piece of jewelry that had formerly belonged to Diana.
