If you haven’t noticed by now, Dua Lipa is a fan of leather. The pop star often relies on the edgy material to make a heart-racing fashion statement, whether that means wearing leather hot shorts at a music festival or slipping into a leather dress for date night.
She continued that streak on Tuesday, when she headed out in New York City dressed in an all-leather look from Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s Spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The head-turning ensemble included a completely backless halterneck made of a diamond-shaped leather panel entirely studded with silver grommets. The black leather pants were no less bold; the skintight piece featured lace-up details that trimmed the low-rise waist cutouts.
To finish off her look, Lipa added black pointed-toe pumps, an array of silver rings and earrings, and a slouchy gray hooded jacket.
Lipa has long been an advocate of anchoring an ensemble with a statement piece. Back in 2017, she opened up about her sartorial approach in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I like having one piece that makes a whole outfit and then you can wear everything else that’s quite simple,” she explained at the time. “Like right now, it’s this blazer ’cause it’s fucking weird. It’s from DKNY. I’ve always loved dressing up. I like it when things look like you’ve just thrown them on and sometimes the things you really do just throw on look the best. I’ve always been inspired by the ’90s, and I like wearing baggy trousers, and blazers with slipdresses and thigh-high boots or leather jackets, and just a mixture of all those together.”
