Did someone say tennis-core? Serena Williams, the queen of the court herself, just showed us a new take on tennis dressing, debuting an all-white look that is cool and sporty in the front and sexy in the back.
In a series of photos posted on her Instagram this morning, the 23-time Grand Slam winner poses in an empty tennis court in the ensemble, composed of a bodysuit, sweatpants, and a super-cropped jacket.
The bodysuit has a subtle beige print and a collared polo-like neck. But in the back, the piece transforms into a high-waisted thong, which Williams left exposed. She wore her snow-white cargo-esque sweatpants at the hip, and when she turned around, her skin peeped out between the thong and the bottoms.
Williams gave the look a street-style twist with her jacket: a beige workwear-inspired piece with a sharp collar and silver studs, which ended right below her bust.
Like a true tennis star, Williams finished her look with a white diamond tennis necklace and a sapphire ring. She wore bronzy makeup and had her icy-blonde hair down in a straight side-parted style.
The sporty fit hails from the athlete’s own Serena Williams Design Crew clothing line with Nike. (She has an entire design building named after her and dedicated to the SWDC line on Nike’s Portland, Oregon campus.) Apart from breaking records and making history on the court, the now-retired player has also made history with her tennis fashion—having introduced brighter and more inclusive designs to the previously restrictive, notoriously all-white tennis wardrobe.
