Sabrina Carpenter Redken Interview

Sabrina Carpenter is just getting started. Hot off the release of her number one album Short n’ Sweet—as well as her latest fragrance, Cherry Baby—the pop star has taken on another new role, as the face of leading prestige hair care brand Redken.

This marks the first-ever hair care partnership for Carpenter, whose signature curtain bangs and fluffy, bouncy blowouts have become a viral sensation this past year. But the “Taste” singer is no stranger to the world of beauty. She was just named the global partner for Prada Beauty, and has a line of candy-inspired fragrances with Scent Beauty. But Redken’s expertise in hair health and styling is the perfect match for Carpenter, who seemingly never has a bad hair day.

We caught up with the star before the Redken partnership announcement to get a read on her favorite products from the brand, and whether or not blondes really do have more fun.

When did you know for sure that you’d found your signature hairstyle and color?

Is this my signature hairstyle and color? It’s definitely what I’ve been loving and feeling most myself right now. I’m loving my blonde color and bouncy bangs, but maybe I’ll change it up someday—you never know.

How often are you styling your own hair these days? What products and tools do you use, and how do you style it when you’re not working?

I am constantly in between sets, so there are very few days now where I’m styling my own hair, but to save my strands from damage in between the constant heat tools, I love Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment. It’s the perfect combination of condition, repair, and heat protection.

Your haircut and curtain bangs are becoming some of the most highly requested styles at salons. What would your advice be to a woman who is about to change her hair to mimic yours?

Have fun—it’s only hair—but see a professional! I say if you’re feeling like a new look, go for it. I trust my stylists Laurie Heaps and Scott King implicitly.

What’s the secret to getting and maintaining all that fluffy volume?

A good hair care routine to keep my strands happy and healthy. Between hair color and heat tools, my hair can take a beating, but I have always trusted Redken to maintain the health of my hair.

Do blondes have more fun?

Obviously!
