Old trends are getting fresh updates, as we can clearly see in the ongoing boho and western revivals. But sometimes, if something’s not broken—don’t fix it. Zoë Kravitz held true to that maxim by stepping out in a classic little black dress in New York City on Thursday night.
Along with actor Natasha Lyonne and musician Moses Sumney, Kravitz was in good company as she attended Thursday’s Dom Perignon event, held in tribute to the late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
For the occasion, the Blink Twice director of course tapped her go-to house, Saint Laurent, for an all-black ensemble—the centerpiece of which was an elegant strapless minidress with fabric asymmetrically draped across one waist and a panel of sultry lace peeking out above her thigh. To complete the look, she added sheer black tights, glossy patent leather slingback pumps also from Saint Laurent, a boxy oversize blazer, and an array of diamond accessories by luxury jeweler Jessica McCormack.
The night before, Kravitz joined McCormack to host an intimate dinner in London, where she once again relied on the little black dress to make a sophisticated fashion statement.
At the time, she opted for a slouchy long-sleeved shift dress, which she styled with sheer black tights and pointed-toe pumps. She again wore McCormack’s jewelry, from a seven-carat cushion-cut diamond ring to drop earrings featuring a string of heart-, oval-, and pear-shaped diamonds.
Earlier this year, Kravitz became the jewelry brand’s first-ever celebrity ambassador. She opened up about the partnership in a recent interview with Bazaar. “We got along right away,” the actor said of her friendship with McCormack. “I started going to hang out with her [at the store] and would try things on. It’s a very dangerous place to spend time. But her work is just so amazing.”
