Sports jerseys have found their way into the most fashionable closets this year, earning their place as a must-have staple—an unexpected trend that would not have been possible without Rihanna, the ultimate street-style chameleon. The pop star and fashion mogul, more than anyone, has been actively championing the jerseys-as-outside-clothes fad this year, pairing the pieces with everything from camo pants to a plaid miniskirt, to purple cargos and a rare Dior bag, and always, always, plenty of diamonds.
And this weekend, she did it again. Rihanna was seen out in Beverly Hills on Sunday looking like Sporty Spice–meets-businesswoman RiRi. Her jersey was a forest green and white striped piece from Australian brand Terah Earth. It features a graphic, abstract black print in the front of the word “Terah” and a silhouette of a kangaroo jumping over it. Over the jersey, Rihanna layered on a cozy gray double-breasted blazer with brown buttons, and for bottoms she wore matching gray suit pants.
The “Diamonds” singer added a welcome pop of red to the look with her very own apple red Fenty × Puma Avanti sneakers, which will be available to order on October 16. She also wore a bright red manicure to match.
And if there’s anything we’ve learned from Rihanna about styling a sports jersey, it’s that, whenever possible, one must accessorize it with strings and strings of diamond jewelry. The superstar followed her own advice on that one, layering on a glittering tennis necklace and a chunky gold chain dripping with diamonds. On her ears, she wore diamond studs. As for glam, Rihanna wore her hair in voluminous curls, and she had on a full Pop Star Barbie face of Fenty Beauty makeup.
