Fully committing to her most recent hair transformation, Zendaya is now very much in her light hair era – showcasing a brighter 'preppy blonde' at Wimbledon 2024. Attending the tennis tournament across two days last week, the Challengers star wore suited Ralph Lauren ensembles on both occasions, to which her buttery blonde hair brought some summery brightness.
For the women's singles final her hair was worn up, bearing its natural curly texture; while for the men's final her collarbone-length cut was blown-out and side-parted, further styled with flipped-out ends. Both looks demonstrate the difference compared to her previous rich, chocolatey hue that the actor is best known for.
Going from dark brunette to blonde can be taxing on hair health, but Zendaya's dramatic change has been a gradual one. She first hinted at the transformation at the Challengers red-carpet premiere in Australia mid-March, where the 27 year-old teamed her custom Loewe number with lighter hair pieces to frame her face.
Then, later this spring, Zendaya was seen wearing an Elisabetta Franchi matching shirt and shorts set to reveal transitional sepia-blonde locks, styled in what's now become her signature bouncy 'old-money' bob – now more of a lob (a long bob).

Over the six months alone, Zendaya has sported long disco waves, a sleek side-parted bob, auburn lengths and a striking micro-fringe.
Her new preppy blonde is a great way for brunettes to move into a fresher palette for summer as its much kinder on the hair than a full-on platinum. The tones are also fairly low-maintenance, similar to last spring/summer's 'bronzed blonde' trend.
"Since bronze-coloured highlights require less lifting than true-blonde highlights, the grow-out is fairly soft," Amy Fish, a hair colourist at Larry King salons, told Bazaar previously. "With this, you can go as long as three-to-four months between colour appointments, depending on your base colour and how fast your hair grows."
Chic, elevated and easy to manage, the preppy blonde is an all-round winner.
