Sydney Sweeney took a page out of the 1910s Edwardian-era stylebook and gave it a modern spin to walk the red carpet at South by Southwest on Tuesday.
The Anyone but You star stepped out in a bridal custom Richard Quinn gown in off-white lace, with a silky off-the-shoulder neckline. The piece featured a cinched bodice and an ample poplin skirt with a high leg slit on one side. Peeking out were Sweeney’s white thigh-high lace stockings in a romantic floral design—a nod to both luxurious 1900s hosiery and to the current exposed-lingerie movement.
Continuing the lace motif, Sweeney wore the tights with pumps also covered in a creamy lace. She finished the look with pearl drop earrings by Octavia Elizabeth and various gold rings by Effy, Nouvel Heritage, and Jennifer Meyer.
Sweeney wore her hair in a glamorous wavy wide-parted bob and had on bronzy makeup and a French manicure.
The actor wore the ensemble to attend the world premiere of her new film Immaculate, at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, as part of SXSW 2024. The annual film, music, and tech festival kicked off last week and wraps up this weekend. In Immaculate, Sweeney plays Cecilia, a woman of devout faith who “is warmly welcomed to the picture-perfect Italian countryside, where she is offered a new role at an illustrious convent,” per IMDb. After some time, however, “it becomes clear to Cecilia that her new home harbors dark and horrifying secrets.” The movie is out March 22.
