The 81st Venice International Film Festival has delivered a number of headline-making moments throughout its slate of scheduled screenings – from incredible custom couture to vintage fashion surprises – but perhaps the most talked-about moment came from the premiere of Wolfs, which George and Amal Clooney attended, but was also where Brad Pitt made his red-carpet debut with partner Ines de Ramon.
At the screening of the new Apple TV+ original film — in which Clooney and Pitt star and acted as producers – the two couples appeared alongside each other and posed for pictures together. They were also spotted on a double date in Venice the night before.
Since being linked in late 2022, Pitt, 60, and de Ramon, 31, have opted to keep their relationship under wraps (until now, that is). So, who is Ines de Ramon? Read ahead for everything we know about the fine-jewellery executive and businesswoman.
She is the vice president of a luxury jewellery company
If there’s one thing de Ramon knows, it’s jewellery. She serves as the vice president of the Los Angeles–based fine jewellery brand Anita Ko, a role she has held since January 2020.
According to her LinkedIn account, de Ramon has a history in the field. Prior to joining the Anita Ko team, she worked in the jewellery department at the Christie’s salesroom in Switzerland, and also held a retail role at the Swiss luxury jewellery company De Grisogono.
Prior to that, de Ramon was in hospitality, working in client services for Kempinski Hotels.
She was previously married to Paul Wesley
Before meeting Pitt, de Ramon already knew what it was like to date a famous Hollywood actor, as she was previously in a relationship with the Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley.
The pair tied the knot sometime around early 2019, when they were spotted wearing wedding bands. Later that year, they made their romance red-carpet official when they attended the Mercy for Animals 20th Anniversary Gala in LA. The couple separated in 2022, and in 2023, Wesley filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences,” per People.
She can speak five different languages
The term polyglot doesn’t even begin to describe de Ramon. According to her LinkedIn page, she is proficient in five different languages, including English, French, Spanish, German and Italian (with the first three being listed as “native or bilingual proficiency”).
This makes sense, given that de Ramon was born in New Jersey, but raised in Cologny, Switzerland, where the four national languages are German, French, Italian and Romansh. As for the Spanish, de Ramon’s parents hail from Spain.
She studied business in college
On her journey to becoming a fine jewellery executive, de Ramon had her sights set on the business world, and pursued a business administration degree when she was an undergraduate. She attended the University of Geneva in Switzerland, where she received a BBA from the Haute École de Commerce.
In addition, de Ramon has earned two certificates from the Gemological Institute of America, in diamond essentials and coloured stone essentials — both of which she collected a few years after graduating from Geneva.
In 2019, she was also licensed as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
She has been linked to Pitt since late 2022
Although they’re only now bringing their romance to the forefront, Pitt and de Ramon have been linked since late 2022. In November of that year, the pair were spotted at a show by U2 frontman Bono, which led to speculation about a relationship. Then, photos captured by Page Six saw the couple spending New Year’s Eve in Mexico.
Following these sightings, the two kept a relatively low profile, until they made a joint appearance at the F1 Grand Prix in Silverstone this past July, as part of the promotion for Pitt’s new film F1.
A few months prior, exclusive sources had reported to People that de Ramon had moved in with Pitt in February. “It’s pretty recent,” the insider told the outlet at the time. “They are going very strong and she is happier than ever.”
In August 2024, the couple made their relationship red-carpet official at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, where they walked arm in arm in elegant black-tie dress. De Ramon wore an asymmetrical white gown with ruching along the bodice, while Pitt opted for an all-black suit.
